Terms of Service

By downloading or using Pawsport you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. If you are using it on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for it.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Pawsport on devices you own or control, for your own purposes. You agree not to:

• Copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law
• Rent, lease, sell, sublicense, or redistribute the app
• Use the app to break the law or to infringe anyone’s rights
• Work around the stamp limits, the review process, or any other control in the app
• Scrape, bulk download, or republish the stamps other people have posted

You can start as a guest with no email address. A guest account exists only on the phone that created it, so we cannot recover it, move it, or prove it is yours. Linking an email, a Google account, or an Apple account is what makes an account recoverable, and your existing stamps carry over when you do.

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping access to the email or store account you signed in with. One person, one account: do not share credentials or run accounts on someone else’s behalf.

Pawsport has one shared map. A stamp that passes review is shown to every other person using the app, along with the photo, the name, the type, the description, and the rounded location you gave it.

Your stamps remain yours. By creating one you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store it, resize it, cut the subject out of it, and display it inside the app and on the shared map, for as long as you keep it. That license exists so the app can do its job, and it ends when you delete the stamp or your account.

You confirm, for every stamp you create, that:

• You took the photo, or you have the right to post it
• Posting it does not break the law or anyone else’s rights, including anywhere that restricts photography
• It shows a cat, and not a person, a document, or anything else you would not want published

We review stamps before they reach the shared map, and we may reject, hide, or remove one at any time without notice, including anything obscene, harassing, misleading, off-topic, or unlawful. Repeatedly posting content like that can end your access to the app. Review is not a promise that we have checked every stamp, and we do not warrant that other people’s stamps are accurate or appropriate.

If a stamp shows something of yours that should not be public, write to us and we will take it down.

Where you may photograph a cat, and where you may publish the location you photographed it in, is your responsibility. Photographing a cat on private property, inside a business, or in a place with its own rules is a decision you make, not one the app makes for you.

The app rounds the coordinates it saves to two decimal places, roughly a kilometer, which is deliberate but still approximate. Do not treat it as a promise about anyone’s privacy, including your own. Location is optional, and a stamp saved without it never appears on the map.

Pawsport is free to download and free to use within its stamp limits. Purrfect Pro is a paid upgrade that removes the stamp limit and unlocks the achievements and streak features. It is sold as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime unlock.

The subscriptions renew automatically. Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase, and the subscription renews at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your store account settings, not in the app. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Prices vary by country and may change. If a price changes, the store will tell you before the next renewal is charged. Refunds are handled by Apple and by Google under their own policies, since the payment goes to them rather than to us.

We contribute 10% of Purrfect Pro revenue to cat shelters and rescue organizations. That is a commitment we make about our own revenue, not a charitable donation you are making, and it does not make any part of your payment tax deductible.

The free stamp limits and the features included in Purrfect Pro may change as the app develops. If a change would remove something you have already paid for, we will say so before it takes effect.

Pawsport depends on our servers, so it needs a connection to sync and it will not always be available. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the app, and we do not promise that a feature you use today will exist tomorrow.

We keep backups and take reasonable care, and you should still keep your own copies of any photograph that matters to you. Do not treat the app as the only place a photo exists.

The app uses a small number of third-party services described in our privacy policy, including our hosting provider, our maps provider, our analytics provider, our support chat, and the two app stores. Their terms apply to their parts of the experience, and we are not responsible for services we do not control.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pawsport is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error free, that a photo will always produce a usable sticker, that a location will resolve to the right region, or that your stamps will always load.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Curious Cat Consulting, LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, loss of photographs, loss of profits, or costs of substitute services, arising out of or relating to your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty five United States dollars.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

If you obtained the app from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these terms are between you and Curious Cat Consulting, LLC only, not with Apple, and that Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Your use is also subject to Apple’s standard licensed application end user license agreement.

If you obtained the app from Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service, and these terms are between you and Curious Cat Consulting, LLC rather than with Google.

You may stop using the app at any time by deleting your account from the Data section of your profile, or by deleting the app. We may suspend or end your license if you materially breach these terms. Sections 4, 9, 10, and 13 survive termination.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Where permitted, disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Florida. Nothing here removes any consumer protection right you have under the law of the place where you live.

We may update these terms, and the date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised terms.
